School of Biomedical Science and Engineering
Training of professional medical technologists, physical therapists and radiologists are the main goals of the undergraduate programs in this school. Emphases of the corresponding graduate programs are placed on advanced education of biotechnological investigators, promoting the professional of physical therapy, radiation therapy, medical imaging, and related areas.
Additionally, the Institute of Biomedical Engineering seeks to educate students to reach leading positions in the multidisciplinary fields of biomedical engineering, including medical electronics, biomechanics and biomaterials. The Department of Physical Therapy and Assistive Technology and the Institute of Biophotonics Engineering are two more recent additions to the School focusing on the frontiers of multidisciplinary research in applying advanced science, engineering, and technologies to solve the most challenging biomedical problems, including disease prevention, non-invasive early detection, therapy, and rehabilitation.
